Peek-A-Boo! I Love You!: newborn - 18 months
(5 weeks, 45 min. per week, 5-10 babies with parent)
In five lessons, learn new songs, lullabies, and ways to say "I love you" using touch, rhymes, literature books, and music. Activities include instrument play, American Sign Language, and dances that stimulate baby's eyes, body and mind. We expose baby to a variety of music in many styles & languages, helping her to relax and strengthen vital neural connections. Hear new and familiar tunes, including Caribbean, Korean, Maori, and Welsh songs. Home Materials include: Book, CD, Duck Wash Mitt, Baby Duck Gertie Ball, and Poster.

Best of Kindermusik: newborn - 18 months

Find out how classic Kindermusik songs, rhymes and play activities provide developmental benefits for your child. As your baby grows from a lap baby, to crawler, into a toddler these activities change to meet their developmental needs. The social setting in our class, the musical activities and Sign Language provide a rich environment for cognitive, physical and emotional growth. The home materials and weekly handouts give you the tools you need to do all the learning activities at home with your child. Materials include A CD, bubbles, Kindermusik scarf, and weekly handouts.

Baby’s Busy Day: newborn - 18 months

Set your baby's day to classical music. With a little more Tchaikovsky in your "Twinkle, Twinkle" repertoire you'll discover new ways your baby benefits from the classics as you both develop an appreciation for the world's most respected music. Each lesson features new ASL signs that will help you communicate with baby in different situations, new developmental activities and songs you can sing for all the places you go together: the swimming pool, the store, the park, the doctor, and more. Materials include: Book, CD, Village Cage Bell, ASL handouts and Poster.

We will take an imaginary trip into the world of adventure. Imagination and gross-motor practice get a front seat as children ride bicycles, hike in the mountains, and even hop the surf on a trip to the beach. Children will develop cognitive and social skills as they sing, dance, pretend, play instruments, and learn lots of new musical activities to continue the learning fun at home! Home materials include a family activity guide, CD, & weekly handouts.

Students will have fun moving their bodies, using their senses, and talking about their friends, their favorite things, and the things they can do all by themselves as they sing, dance, play instruments & explore the learning focus: “I can hear and remember patterns. My self-esteem is growing.” Home materials include a family activity guide, CD, & weekly handouts.

Creatures at the Ocean: 19 months - 3.5 years old (5 weeks, 60 min. per week, 5-10 children with parent)
Ahoy there mates! Head to the beach with pretend play, music, instrument play, songs and dances about the ocean and all it’s creatures. Thematic story times, snacks, & crafts make this a summer adventure you don’t want to miss. The last day is a Hawaiian beach party! Materials include: CD, 2 seashell castanets, storybook template, 5 picture folders, ocean drum craft, lei, & handouts.

Drums, Drums, Drums: 3.5 - 5 years old

Your child will experience the concept of fractions through hearing and playing quarter and eighth notes. In class we’ll do “call & response” activities to the rhythmic sounds of African music, dance, pretend play, and ensemble instrumentation. Your child will sharpen listening & attention skills, as well as fine-tune her ear to finding patterns. Materials include a CD, family activity guide, drum craft, rhythm cards, & weekly handouts.

Jazz Kitchen: 3.5 - 5 years old

We will take jazz music, sounds and instruments into a play kitchen! Children will explore food in its many dimensions—shopping at the grocery store, then heating up the kitchen with chopping, dicing, making toast, and cooking noodles from scratch—all to the rhythms and sounds of jazz. They’ll also explore quarter-note and eight-note rhythms with their hands, bodies, percussion & wind instruments & piano. Home materials include a CD, family activity guide, instrument craft & weekly handouts.

On the Road: 3.5 - 5 years old
(5 weeks/days, 90 min. per week/day, 5-8 children, parent joins last 30 minutes)
Your child will take a musical road trip to a new place each day. We will explore instruments, dance, sing, pretend, & learn new things each week at the beach, the carnival, the cottage by the lake, camping in the woods and finally at “home”. We will sing around the campfire, play carnival games on the midway, go for starry walks & create great summer memories. Healthy snack & craft projects are included each day. Home materials include a CD, hardback book, poster, guiro frog instrument, handouts & 5 take home crafts.

Around the World: 5 - 7 years old
(drop off class, 5 days, 3 hours per day, 5 - 8 children)
Children travel to a different country each day exploring Japan, Africa, Germany, England, & Mexico. They experience regional food, music, song, dance, crafts, and traditions of each place. The children's home materials include a CD, “backpack” to decorate, passport to put their travel stickers in, items to complete 1-2 crafts each day, instrument, & handouts from each country. The last day ends with a Mexican fiesta and piñata party!

Tell me a Tale: 5 - 7 years old
(drop off class, 5 days, 2 hours per day, 5 - 8 children)
Through storytelling, your child will develop an early awareness of rhythm, movement, singing, and drama. Each lesson features a new tale from around the world, explored through multi-instrument and multi-cultural elements. All told, it’s an around-the-imagination adventure of the greatest stories from Europe, Malaysia, South Africa, and more. Thematic food served each week. Home Materials include: CD, hardback book, pair of Lummi Sticks, poster & materials for 5 crafts.

Summer Musical Theatre Camp: 7 - 12 years old
(5 hours per day & evening show, M-F, 10-15 students)
Children produce their own musical from the ground up and perform it on the last night of camp. They train with our theatre director, voice coach & dance instructor. All of our instructors are professional music instructors with many years experience working with children. Each child receives a part in the production and builds the set, designs props, learns dance choreography, blocking, and songs that tell a story. While the focus is to have fun and learn to work together to create a show, children also get specialized training in acting, dance, note reading, vocal technique and ensemble singing. Children receive a script and practice CD. Healthy snacks provided each day. Camp ends at 5:00pm on Friday, show is 7:00pm at Brighton Gardens.

Small Group Instrument Classes: ages vary
We offer small group instrument classes in a variety of traditional instruments. Classes are 45-60 minutes per week for 5 weeks. Children who take this series learn music theory, graphic notation & fun songs to play. Children can continue in the fall with group or private lessons.
Intermediate Recorder: YC grads, 3 - 6 students

Sign one child up for 2 or more summer classes and take $5.00 off each class. Enroll by March 10 and get a free CD of your choice while supplies last. No registration fee until April 10. After April 10 there is a $10.00 registration fee. Younger siblings receive a 15% tuition discount when enrolled in a class the same session. Only 1 discount per child. If your child’s age is on the borderline of 2 curricula, we recommend they enroll as an older child in a class if they are a new student. Please call if you have any questions.
